Re:form Flow + Tower

This class is taught by:

Heidi Strong

Studio Owner & Pilates Instructor

I opened Pilates Napa Valley in April 2007 after completing the 450-hour intensive Pilates comprehensive apparatus certification through the Physical Mind Institute method. I was inspired by the immediate changes in my own body after practicing three times a week for only one month myself, and chose to shift gears from my 25-year graphic design career, and learn to teach Pilates. I love training my clients of all ages and fitness level, and watching their bodies and lives change through Pilates, just as mine did.

Sunye Vasquez

Sunye (pronounced Sunny) was brought into her Pilates journey in 2006, through physical rehab and relief from her own injuries, and immediately fell in love! She is certified through Club Pilates and is currently going through BASI teacher training. She is a firm believer in the power of movement while having fun doing it, and enjoys sharing her passion with every body, at any age. She seeks to engage her students, while helping them to reach their individual fitness goals... To her, there's nothing better than seeing the smile of satisfaction on a client when they feel themselves connecting and getting stronger! Pilates has changed Sunye's life - both physically and mentally - and she can't wait to share her magic with all of you!

Shaun Farnsworth

Shauns’ love of rhythmic movement became his path to fitness. An opportunity to teach and train aerobics instructors led him to teach in Germany and Switzerland for several years. Back in the states, his career as a professional dancer continued his passion. As he has gotten older, his search for functional excersise made it clear that pilates was the natural next step. The idea of a form of excercise that includes core strength, flexibility and rhythmic movement inspired Shaun to get certified to teach Pilates. His approach is a little more athletic with a dash of laughter and good humor. « If you can’t laugh while your crying…. What’s the point?
Reformer + Tower + Props
Our signature fitness-style Reformer class!

Formerly called Re:form School, these classes are designed to target your core stability muscles, while improving overall muscle tone, strength, alignment and flexibility. Regular attendance will increase your mobility, alleviate joint pain, and enhance athletic competence through proper form, breath, and muscular function. You will develop a deepening awareness and activation of intrinsic core postural muscles, reforming your body from the inside out!

This class is a fun, fiery and flowing core strengthening workout you will become addicted to! We combine Pilates mat warmup work with everyone's favorite apparatus - the Reformer + Pilates props. Then find your sweat from the inside out on the Wall Tower and Bodhi Straps in this Springs, Straps and SWEAT class! You will strengthen, lengthen and stretch your way into a long, lean, flexible body while having lots of fun!

No class is ever the same...
We mix and match classical and contemporary and keep you flowing seamlessly through various Pilates exercises on the Reformer + Chair + Props (Re:form West Room), and Reformer + Wall Tower + Props (Re:form East Room). You will tone, sweat and transform yourself into a longer, leaner, flexible body while having lots of fun!

An efficient, effective, safe workout for every body...
Appropriate for all levels, however we recommend taking some Re:form School 101 classes (see schedule) if you are brand new to Pilates or coming back after inactivity or injury. Modifications and progressions will be provided, but not appropriate for those with injuries or special needs. (55 minutes, 5-10 max capacity)

Learn to "work the springs" and improve your daily life through better stability and strength!

Learning to work the springs provides a unique opportunity to work all muscles and limbs individually and in tandem, giving you feedback to better understand how your body moves. This understanding will allow you to activate deep into the powerhouse transverse abdominal muscles, finding and correcting imbalances. These improvements in proper core muscle recruitment and development translate to an improved Pilates practice and better posture in general.
